Does this place have beers or wines if not is it byob friendly??
The Shrimp Cocktail appetizer had no taste whatsoever. We left one of the 4 medium shrimps. The salads were drenched in dressing to the point of being inetable. The NY Strip (market value priced), was small, and ridiculously overcooked. I sent it back and ordered the Filet Mignon (their feature steak...at $42. and change) was awful. Undercooked and raw in spots. Will never return. The waitress was wonderful with a great sense of humor.
MoreNever hurts to make a reservation, but even if you don't they will always try to fit in parties of any size. The tender fillet medallions melt in your mouth with delicious flavor, with a garlic scampi style of sauce to rest in. The sooner salad with Italian dressing is spectacular, especially if you requires the crumbly blue cheese on it as well. The side dish of pasta has a very flavorful tomato flavor. The servers will always accommodate parties for birthdays and any other special occasions. Definitely enjoy some meals here and avoid the chain restaurants, you will not regret the choice.
MoreMost food is great, steak and chops. Spaghetti and pizza lacking. Place is getting rundown. Seems as no $$ being put back into the business. Chairs etc need repairs and/or replacing
MoreFor valentines day they were unprepared and understaffed. Seated in a dining room with no heat. Everyone in room had their winter coats on. Waited 3 hours for steaks that were so raw no one including tables around us, as in people we had never met, could eat their meal. Then after watching multiple tables get up and just leave this house of horrors we received a $300.00 bill. My raw filet is in my fridge, will be cooking it later tonight. Do not go here, if you look at my other reviews. I am fair, probably too nice but this was by far the WORST dinning experience I have ever had.
MoreVisiting with family. Had a terrible experience. Very rude waitress and subpar food. Meals were not even hot. Traveled 35 minutes to be very disappointed.
MoreThe place stunk when you first walk in. Over an hour from the time we ordered until food came out. Food had a very burnt/smokey flavor. From minestrone soup to the pasta sauce it all tasted the same. The strawberries on the cheesecake tasted like they had come out of fizzy water. Service was slow. Overall not a good experience.
MoreSome things never change. Their filet is still the best.
I have vistied several times when in town delivering across the street tonight they where closed so i decided to park my semi in their lot being a former customer i didn't thank they would mind boy was i wrong owner or manager stopped by to me to get my truck out of his lot but not so nicely this is not as truck friendly as i thought and they won't see a penny from me anymore by the way libbys around the corner is awsome my new favorite spot in Elmira
MoreDingy drab dark interior. Needs a good cleaning and remodel. Linguini and clams was not good, lasagna okay, spaghetti and meatballs okay, fettuccine Alfredo was not good.
More6 of us went to dinner here. It's an old out of date restaurant and the place was almost empty. Counting us, there were 3 tables with customers. The waiter was friendly and prompt. We ordered dinner without appetizers. I ordered ribeye steak medium rare. My girlfriend ordered shrimp scampi. The meals came with salad which was brought to the table right away. The salad was a touch wilty but not bad. My steak was cooked to perfection. It was at least 16 oz. I ate every bite. My girlfriend said her shrimp scampi was delicious. Shrimp snappy and fresh. All in all, a good experience. We'll definitely be back.
MoreIt is a place in Elmira that has very deep ties to the community. The food is good. Unfortunately, the owners have let the place go. It definitely needs a "face lift" and some TLC.
MoreMoretti's is more about people, history, and steak than fast and flashy atmosphere and service. I like to walk there, deep in the patch, just below de la papa's old building on Washington Ave., sandwiched between the old canal and the rail yards... So much more of an experience that way. The ribeye is simple, but delicious.
MoreWent there for Valentine’s Day made reservations a hour before, we showed up and They couldn’t find our name anywhere. The old man standing at the counter gave me grief about where I worked when he saw my coat I was wearing. Finally got seated ordered food and waited over 2 hours to get our food. Once we got our food the plates where cold and food was barely warm. I ordered a broiled ribeye and paid 39.99 for it, I ended up getting food poisoning and puking it up at 3 in the morning. My wife’s lasagna was burnt and cold. Just a horrible experience all the way around
MoreAppetizers were decent. Fried clams and french onion soup. Pasta sauce tasted like it was cooked WAY too long in a crockpot and had a burnt flavor that wouldn't go away...ordered strawberry cheesecake to get the flavor out of my mouth and the strawberries had started to ferment and way overpriced
